Managing Illness

Asthma Class - teaches Members about signs and symptoms of asthma, environmental control, and the proper use of medications and instruments used to treat this illness. This program consists of one, 2 ½ hour group session. Members who complete the asthma class get an asthma kit that has a peak flow meter, spacer, and hypo-allergenic mattress cover and pillow case to help control asthma. Members at any age who have been diagnosed with asthma can self-refer to participate in this program.

  • Eisenhower Health offers diabetes classes for community members, patients, and patient loved ones. Pre-registration is required! Click here for a calendar of classes (diabetes and other topics) and phone numbers to register. 
    • Rancho Mirage offers classes in English & Spanish.
    • La Quinta & Palm Desert offer classes in English only.

Perinatal Health

Healthy Me, Healthy Baby Prenatal Workshop  – a 3-hour class for Members who are pregnant. Members receive information about keeping themselves and their baby healthy during pregnancy.

Healthy Me, Healthy Baby Guide – topics covered include eating healthy during pregnancy, prenatal care, morning sickness, baby development, breastfeeding, caring for a newborn, postpartum depression, and family planning.

Baby-N-Me Prenatal App -  Member can access tools like growth tracker, weight gain calculator, ultrasound videos, daily due date countdown, kick counter, ways to save questions, and topics for Doctor’s visit

Gestational Diabetes Classes (Riverside) – a 2-hour class taught by a pharmacist and Registered Dietician for pregnant Members diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Call Preveon Health at (909) 693-3376 Ext. 9491 to register.

Weight Management Resources

Eat Healthy, Be Active - a 6-week program for Members who want to learn to eat healthy and be active. Members learn about physical activities, stress management, portion and serving sizes, how to read food labels, and other related topics.

Bariatric Surgery Information Session – a 1.5 hour workshop for Members who are interested to get bariatric surgery. At the end of the workshop, Members will be able to understand: what is obesity and the types of weight loss surgeries and their risks.

Healthy Cooking Classconsist of 6 sessions. Members can call Family Service Association (FSA) at (951) 300-0456, M-F 8am-5pm.

Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) - a year-long lifestyle change program designed to prevent the onset of Type 2 Diabetes. Members can call Family Service Association (FSA) at (951) 300-0456, M-F 8am-5pm.

Mobile Fresh (Grocery Store on Wheels) - Low cost fresh fruits and produce in various location throughout Inland Empire. Members can check locations online here or by calling Family Service Association at (951) 300-0456, M-F 8am-5pm.

Other Health & Wellness

Advanced Care Directive Workshop - Members learn the importance of having an Advanced Care Directive and will be able to request a trusted health agent and identify healthcare choices or living requests.
